The original Cotton Club was a speak-easy in Harlem and later Midtown Manhattan, frequented by white audiences entertained by some of the greatest black musicians. The current incarnation, opened in 1977, is a dinner and jazz club with swing dance on Mondays, a blues and jazz show on Fridays and dinner, jazz and dancing Thursdays and Saturdays. Popular with tourists, the Sunday brunch with gospel show is served buffet style with Southern comforts like fried chicken, corn bread and grits.
