A living-history museum complete with actors in costume, the Lower East Side Tenement Museum is one of the only museums in America devoted to the in-depth exploration of the lives of historical immigrants. Kids will get a chance to see what it was like to live in a tenement, work in a shop, and live the day-to-day life of the Irish, Italian, and Eastern European people who helped build New York into the city it is today. The museum is only accessible via tours booked in advance, and only available to children over the age of 5. Admission is 25USD.
