The Broadway Theater District from West 40th Street to West 54th Street is where many stage and screen theaters are located. "Off-Broadway" productions are also staged on Theater Row on 42nd Street between Ninth and Eleventh Avenues. You'll have to book months ahead for some of the block-buster shows like "Hamilton," but you can score same-day discount theater tickets, up to 50 percent off, to many Broadway and Off-Broadway shows at the TKTS Ticket booth between Broadway and Seventh Avenue at 47th Street. Matinee tickets are on sale Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm and Sunday 11 am to 3 pm. Evening performance tickets are available daily between 3 pm and 8 pm (from 2 pm on Tuesday and Sunday until 7 pm)

Definitely stop at the TKTS booth to pick up discounted tickets. The line might be long but you will save a lot. Try to eat in a restaurant nearby before your show, they are some of the best in the world! There are gay clubs to check out after your show too.
