A 1920s mansion where Einstein and Marion Davies stayed (not together), the Willows Historic Palm Springs Inn pampers guests in its eight rooms with a three-course breakfast and views of a 50-foot waterfall, afternoon wine and nibbles, spa services, bamboo-fiber sheets and an evening turn-down. Room service is by a French restaurant across the street. It is only a five-minute walk from the Palm Springs Art Museum. Summer months it is shuttered.
