Founded in 1938 as the Palm Springs Desert Museum, the museum has grown into a cultural center with a world-class art collection, a vibrant performing arts program, an architecture and design center and a Palm Desert branch. Free admission every Thursday from 4 to 8 pm and the second Sunday each month. Historical footnote: the Dinah was inaugurated at a reception at the museum in 1991.
