Forest Park is six times bigger than Central Park, just to give you a sense of the size of this place. At 5,157-acres (2,087 hectares) of urban forest this is the largest urban park in the United States and it's only about 10 minutes from downtown Portland. This is THE spot for runners so lace up your tennis shoes and go for a jog if you're the type of traveler who brings your running gear on vacation.  Otherwise, the whole family might enjoy a guided hike or the opportunity to explore myriad trails. Bring a new friend to find the best berry picking patch or mushroom spot, depending on the season.
