Every October for over three decades, Provincetown has hosted Women's Week - the largest lesbian cultural event in New England. The schedule is rich and varied, with over 150 distinct events including workshops, performances, sporting events, movie screenings and parties.  Lesbian comics are particularly well-represented, with boldface names on the marquee like Suzanne Westenhoefer, Judy Gold, Vickie Shaw, Karen Williams, Jennie McNulty, Poppy Champlin and Mimi Gonzalez. The week reaches its peak at the Saturday Night Dance party, where revelers old and new meet up to celebrate the community with champagne toasts, killer DJs and a dance floor that goes all night long. This is one of the best events on Provincetown's calendar, so plan to book accommodations and air travel well in advance, and be sure to buy advance tickets to the most popular events like the Clambake and Dune Tour.

This is one of the only bars in P-town where you're likely to run into fishermen fresh from the boat for their end-of-shift drink, and that's really what makes it so special. There's no karaoke, no drag...
