A pleasant hiking trail just 10 minutes from downtown, Beech Forest makes for a gentle, shaded walk suitable for all ages and skill levels. The forest is quiet and relatively secluded, so you're likely to see any number of woodland creatures along with the lush local plant life. The trail is also known for its fearless bird population, who will come eat out of your hand if you remember to bring along some bird seed. Early morning and late afternoon are the best times to visit.
