The Cape School of Art is a non-profit institution founded by Charles Hawthorne in 1899.  Teachers make use of the unique setting of their school to lead classes on landscapes, portraits, and still life, with an emphasis on light. In the summer season the school hosts a variety of classes, lectures, and workshops that are led by professional art instructors and open to the public. Fees vary depending on the length of the class, which can run from one day to several weeks.
