Opened in 1926, the San Diego Museum of Art purports to be the region's oldest and largest art museum with a wide-ranging collection, including German Expressionists, Italian masters and Spaniards like Murillo, Zurbarán and El Greco. Panama 66, its hot new Zagat-rated beer bar serves lunch, dinner and weekend brunch and features after hours and music. Museum admission is $15 with a special $5 entry Fridays between 5 pm and 8 pm. The May S. Marcy Sculpture Court and Garden is free.
