Stone Brewing, the largest brewery in Southern California and the ninth largest craft brewery in the US, is about 30 miles (49 km) north of San Diego. Launched in 1996, it is famous for Stone Pale Ale, Arrogant Bastard Ale and alcohol content up to 13%. It has public tours weekdays at noon, 2 pm, 4 pm and 6 pm and on the hour Saturdays and Sundays from noon to six. Visitors can also stop in Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens, a spacious restaurant with large outdoor patio and an acre of gardens, and shop in the Stone Company Store. There are also bistro outposts in Terminal 2 at San Diego International Airport and in the Liberty Station development in the former Naval Training Center San Diego mess hall.
