Covering 6,000 years of Asian history, the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco has the most comprehensive collection outside of Asia. The Beaux Arts exterior gives way to grand light-filled halls lined with art from China, Tibet, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Pakistan, and India. Don't think you need to be a particular fan of Asian art to enjoy this museum; it's a guaranteed crowd-pleaser, and worth at least an entire afternoon. On Thursday nights the museum stays open late to host cocktail events inspired by current exhibitions. Tickets are $15.00. Open Tues-Sun 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Thurs 10 a.m - 9 p.m.
