A relatively new San Francisco landmark, the Contemporary Jewish Museum's brushed-steel building on Mission Street was designed by architect Daniel Libeskind to trace the outline of the Hebrew word "l'chaim." Inside the museum you'll find a thoughtful and compelling investigation into the Jewish experience, through artists and social figures like Andy Warhol, Gertrude Stein, and Harry Houdini. Tickets are $12. Open Fri-Tue 11 a.m. - 5 p.m., Thurs 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.
