Built in 1893 as a chocolate factory producing the world-famous Ghirardelli confections, this brick-clad shopping center is now home to over 70 restaurants and shops looking out over the San Francisco Bay. Chocolate lovers can still get their fix at a store on the plaza, and take a gander at vintage chocolate-making machinery.
