Museum of the African Diaspora

SoMa

The Museum of the African Diaspora in SoMa deals with four main themes relating to the diasporic experience: origins, movement, adaptation, and transformation. Exhibits are both subtle and bold, with recent standouts including a wrenching recording of slave narratives read by Maya Angelou and a display of quilts made by the Siddi community of India, descended from 16th-century slaves. Tickets are $10. Open Wed-Sat 11 a.m. - 6 p.m., Sun 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.
