The Marina Green is a large lawn at the edge of the northern bayshore that stretches along the entire space between Fort Mason and the Presidio. It's the perfect spot for a picnic, and you'll have any number of things enriching your view, like the stately old homes of the neighborhood or the entire expanse of the San Francisco Bay. People often come here to fly kites, and on a sunny, windy day you can see hundreds of them swooping through the air. Events are often hosted here, so check the park website and you might just get to see some live music or an oyster tasting festival.
