Sunset Beach, one of three main beaches on the three-mile-long barrier reef called Treasure Island, is particularly LGBTQ-welcoming. At the southern end of the island, its tranquil boardwalk is popular for early morning strolls and late afternoon sunsets. There's plenty of meter-parking and public access through the Treasure Island Pavillion, a popular wedding venue. Close by are rustic outdoor bars and restaurants in a Jimmy Buffet setting.
