How can I contribute?I am writing this at the request of my last Airbnb guests. My guests were a male honeymoon couple. Their love and happiness was so beautiful and lovely to be around. My favourite guests to date. I am a hetro British woman living in Puglia. I have a very small and private glamping business in amongst the olive groves. I have a very private space and a beautiful pool. My guests and I spent many hours over a glass or 2 of wine chatting and getting to know each other. They were highly intelligent, interesting and great fun. We debated, shared stories and laughed together for hours. On their last night the boys told me that they had been able to totally relax and be themselves. This shocked me and sickened me that they hadn't felt that they could throughout their whole honeymoon. Their memories that I will hold dear are of their pure total love and happiness. The laughter and canoodling in the pool. The loving looks and little kisses. The walking down the gardens holding hands and living the pure happiness of the moment. I feel ashamed that my lovely guests had not been able to fully appreciate and fully enjoy their honeymoon. There had been a cloud over what should have been the most perfect holiday of their lives. We talked about the prejudism that they face even now in the 21st century. This is so wrong as you are, I'm sure, fully aware. They suggested that I add LGBTQ+ to my profile. I was initially unsure because I am a naturally inclusive person and I didn't think it was necessary. However, after listening to how they felt on a daily basis I agreed. The guys explained that people search out somewhere LGBTQ+ friendly to ensure that they can have a good holiday. Again I am perplexed that this is the case. I want anyone reading this to know that there are many loving caring people in the world who don't give a damn about your colour, enthicity or sexual oriantation. I welcome all of my guests with open arms. I am truly ashamed that discrimination obviously still exists and that I have had to write this. This post isn't to promote my business. I was asked to do this to let you and others know that there are many places like mine in the world who want you to visit and be yourself. Happiness and inclusion are the key to life.
