Formerly known as Kraft Nabisco Championship and informally known as the Dinah Shore Tournament, the ANA Inspiration was founded by Dinah Shore in 1972 and has been a major championship of women's golf since 1983 and the first tournament of the calendar year. The tournament is a big draw for lesbians - and not just those who play golf - and has been dubbed "spring break for lesbians."
