Mr. Shi's Dumplngs has two locations: the original hole-in-the-wall in the alleys near the Bell Tower and a newer one in Sanlitun, northwest of the Beijing Workers' Stadium. Mr. Shi is a friendly fellow who offers more than 50 kinds of boiled and fried dumplings, hands out menus in English and encourages diners to doodle on the walls. Don't expect to see a lot of Chinese faces other than the servers.
