The Dalí Theatre-Museum - in Dalí's hometown 138 kilometers (86miles) from Barcelona - has the largest and most diverse collection of Salvador Dalí's work, much from the artist's private collection. The heart of the museum, opened in 1968, is a space which was a theater when Dalí was a child and where his first work was exhibited. He is buried in a crypt below the stage, which is crowned by a glass geodesic dome cupola. It is an easy day trip from Barcelona.
