The Fort Lauderdale edition of the OUTshine Film Festival, the largest LGBT cultural arts event in South Florida, takes place over two weekends at the Gateway Theatre, Savor Cinema and the NSU Art Museum. A separate Miami edition is held each April. Previously, the festival was known as MiFo LGBT Film Festival and before that separately as the Fort Lauderdale Gay & Lesbian Film Festival and Miami Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, only the name has changed.
