Started in 2000 as part of the North Sea Jazz Festival, the Cape Town International Jazz Festival has grown into the largest jazz fest in Africa and the fourth largest in the world. It attracts top international artists and a crowd of nearly 40,000. Over the two days, more than 40 performers - about half of them South African - appear on five stages.
