The Zeitz Museum, the largest museum of contemporary art in Africa, is a standout with 80 gallery spaces over nine floors and a rooftop sculpture garden in the exciting new Silo District. Its silo, one of six, has been transformed by British architect Thomas Heatherwick. The collection features cutting-edge works from Africa and its diaspora and opens Heritage Day weekend in September 2017 with great fanfare.
