Thava's owner hails from Kerala and gets many of his recipes from his mother, but the menu features authentic classical dishes from all over India - curries, biryanis, Tandoori and Masala. Curries come in both tapas and main portions. In addition to The Gardens location, the prize-winning Thava also has a branch in Balito on the Dolphin Coast north of Durban. That one - with beach views - opens at 7 am.
