Nelson Mandela opened the SAB Centenary Centre (now the World of Beer) in 1995 to mark the 100th birthday of South African Breweries (SAB), now part of Anheuser-Busch InBev, and the launch of a new cultural neighborhood. The museum celebrates the history and culture of beer, particularly as it developed in South Africa. Beer tasting and monthly five-course beer-pairing lunches make this truly an interactive museum.
