Nieuwe Meer is a recreational area set around a large lake outside of Amsterdam, accessible by car, bike and public transportation. Popular with boaters, fishermen and families, it is also a big swimming and cruising spot in warmer weather, with several swimming beaches and a clothing-optional area just beyond the bike path. Caution advised if cruising at night.
