With an estimated public of over 2 million people, the Sao Paolo gay pride is believed to one of the biggest in the world. The party attracts more tourists to the city than the carnaval itself. Starting at around midday on Paulista Avenue, the parade heads down into the city center and ends at República Square late in the night. The public follow the 4 kilometres long route dancing to the loud sound systems on the trucks, drinking and partying away - Brazilian style.
All roads around the event are car free, underground to Paulista Ave is best option.
