Considered a "forefather of Toronto's modern gay community," this statue situated in the heart of the Gay Village commemorates Alexander Wood,  an early settler of Toronto who was involved in a sex scandal in 1810 where he was accused of homosexuality. Down the street is 519, Toronto's LGBTQ Community center which offers an array of events, activities and resources.
