Go ahead and get a room at the Omni Center Hotel, which shares a building with the CNN headquarters. A shuttle service from the airport is provided.

Find the nearest Waffle House and grab a quick, basic breakfast before heading to the aquarium. It's the biggest in the western hemisphere, so it's best to get there early enough to be able to take one's sweet time and really relax in front of the whale shark tank.

Take a taxi to lunch at The Colonnade, and fill up on collard greens, fried okra and mashed potatoes.

Wash down that meat-and-three experience with a visit to the World of Coca-Cola, learn about the history of the world's famous soft-drink and sample its various beverages from all over the world. Don't leave before picking up a Coke with the day's bottling date for a souvenir.

Head back to the hotel for a quick cat nap, before wandering down to the CNN center, a tacky but fun experience that teaches visitors about Ted Turner's ground-breaking news enterprise. Maybe try a hand at delivering a weather report in front of a green screen.

Stroll around Centennial Olympic Park and watch the children fool around in the center fountain. Keep an eye on the time though, so you don't miss the musical playing that evening at Fox Theatre.

After the show, reserve a spot on the tour the following day to get a behind-the-scenes look at the fabulous theatre. Head to The Varsity downtown to pack in one last Atlanta standard for the day. Say "you'll have" a slaw-dog, an F.O., and perhaps even a fried-pie-รก-la-mode for dessert.
