Founded in 1987 in Austin, four overlapping SXSW festivals celebrate the convergences of the interactive, film, comedy and music industries attracting global professionals and featuring sessions, showcases, screenings, exhibitions and networking opportunities. The mega gathering attracts more than 50,000, including those attending free events. The music festival alone has over 2,000 performers from more than 60 counties appearing across genres in bars, clubs, parks, churches and hotels.
