Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort, 47 miles northwest, offers 40 acres of snowy slopes, clothing and equipment rentals, and a ski school. The most extreme run here is about 3,000 feet with a 1,000-foot drop, but there are plenty of bunny slopes to keep newbies happy. Lift tickets run from $50 to $60, and the small ski lodge has a nice snack bar for apres-ski relaxing.
