A National Historic Landmark, the Biltmore is a palatial 1920s resort. Johnny Weissmuller, the most famous Tarzan, taught swimming in its pool, at one time the largest in the world. The 18-hole, par 71 golf course was designed in 1925 by the Scotsman Donald Ross and is staffed with PGA pros today. Its pink Moorish tower a local landmark, the hotel has 275 rooms and 130 suites that with Frette robes.
