The only swimming pool to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Venetian Pool in Coral Gables began as a quarry, transformed in 1924 into Venetian Casino with waterfalls and grottos. Located at 1701 De Soto Boulevard just off Granada Boulevard south of Coral Way, it generally opens at 11 am and closes around 5 pm (closed holidays), but get there early because it shuts its gate once capacity is reached. Non-residents over age 13 pay a $12 entry; children ages 3 and 13, pay $7. No children under 3 admitted.
