The Orgullo Festival is a month-long celebration of Hispanic LGBT pride with music, culture, food and fun. Begun in 2011 during National Hispanic Heritage Month, it is the first event of its kind in the U.S. The 2015 festival is scheduled for Sept. 4 to Oct.3 with salsa, vogue and ballroom contests in clubs around town and a forum of Hispanic LGBT authors and a Noches de Jazz Music Series at The Betsy hotel in South Beach. The culmination will be a "carnaval' on Oct 3 in Museum Park with Orgullo Dance Divas contest and pavilions for food, culture and Hispanic literature.
