NewFest, New York's LGBT Film Festival, screens American and international films, including narratives, shorts and documentaries, accompanied by panels and parties. Begun in 1988, it is one of the most comprehensive showcases of international LGBT film and also includes year around events. Many festival events are held at The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center.
