Three hours out of DC is Ocean City, MD, a sleepy little beach town on an Atlantic barrier island with ten miles of soft white beach. Because it's so close to the popular Rehoboth Beach, there's not much of a gay scene here, but those looking for a slower pace will enjoy the scenery and a variety of standard beach activities.
