Green Gables is tucked away in the seashore resort of Strand at the foot of the Hottentots Holland Mountains about 30 miles (50 km) southeast of Cape Town and within an easy drive to wine country. The 14-room guesthouse is a beautifully restored homestead with high timber-named ceilings and Oregon hardwood floors. It takes its name and inspiration from L.M. Montgomery's "Anne of Green Gables".
