One of the oldest gay pubs around, the City of Quebec opened in1946 when homosexuality was a crime in Britain. Among its first patrons were gay pilots and crew from the Royal Air Force. Now longtime regulars are mostly older gentlemen who appreciate the Victorian decor and traditional pub fare, but the bar appears to be transitioning away from gay.
