Housed in a neoclassical mansion from the early 1900s, the Archaeological Museum of Mytilini has collected artifacts from the Neolithic period through Roman times. Among its treasures are 6th century Aeolian capitals, Hellenistic-era mosaics, gold funeral offerings excavated from the island and artifacts from prehistoric Thermi. Be sure to take a walk through the back garden, which is filled with beautiful ancient statuary. Admission is about $5.
