The Woods is a clothing-optional campground in the Pocono Mountains, 77 miles (c. 125 km) north of Philadelphia. The secluded getaway for gays and lesbians offers a variety of camping accommodations and attracts roughly half singles, half couples and a broad mix of ages though you'll find plenty of college-educated younger men here. Its 160 acres (65 ha) offer a four-acre lake for paddle boating, nature trails, streams, sand-court volleyball tournaments, a camp store and club house with cafe and dance club. A new membership is required each season. Accessible by bus from Philadelphia and New York City.
