Just east of Church Street, this urban sanctuary in downtown Toronto features five greenhouses filled with rare tropical plants. With free admission and seasonal events, Allan Gardens is an affordable and peaceful place to see some natural beauty right in the heart of the city. Before the arrival of the gay bars and bathhouses, it was also a popular cruising spot in the early 20th century. Open daily at 10 am.
