Located on Toronto's Island on the southern shore, the Centre Island Beach is a blue flag beach; this international eco-label is awarded to beaches that meet high water quality. When you've had enough of that pristine water, check out bike rentals, a snack bar, changing rooms, and showers. This beach is only accessible via ferry from downtown Toronto.
From Union Station take 509 Harbourfront or 510 Spadina streetcar south, or Bay Bus #6 southbound from Front and Bay, to the Bay and Queen's Quay stop. Entrance to ferry docks is on south side of the street, west of Westin Harbour Castle hotel.
