Check into Casa Marina, an elegant old 1920s hotel that has babysitting services and other child-friendly amenities to make sure you all have a good time. It has one of the city's largest private beaches and holds sand-castle-building workshops. It's a world unto its own but only a half mile to boisterous Duval Street bars.
2
Start things off with a fun ride around town on the Conch Train, which lets you hop on and off or just enjoy the 90-minute narrated tour.
3

Sightsee around Mallory Square on your way to the Key West Shipwreck Museum where 19th century wreckers come to life to tell of the dangers, thrills and profit of rescuing the crews - and cargos - of ships threatened by violent storms and treacherous reefs.

4

Lunch at the family-friendly Margaritaville, Jimmy Buffet's first back in 1985. Buffet videos run non-stop on giant screens with live music later on.

5

Climb the 88 steps to the top of the Key West Lighthouse and give the kids an idea of what it was like maintaining the southernmost beacon in the United States.

On your way back to the hotel, duck in the Butterfly and Nature Conservatory where more than 60 species of butterflies flitter in a climate-controlled habitat. Arrange for a babysitter and have a romantic dinner with ocean view in the Sun Sun Restaurant, adjourning to the bar for a nightcap.
