The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens - used to be the Living Desert Museum - is a public desert botanical garden with zoo on 1,200 protected acres (nearly 500 ha). Drawing from North American and African desert life, it has nearly 500 animals in the habitats, live animal shows, a model train exhibit, tram rides and hiking trails. The kids' area has a merry-go-round.
