As one of the most historic places in America, Provincetown celebrates the Fourth of July with particular pride and enthusiasm. The community hosts a week's worth of festivities, including underwear, pool, beach, and fetish parties, all capped by a parade and fireworks show that has been known to attract upwards of 100,000 people. There's also a live show featuring Broadway stars like Bernadette Peters. Most of the action centers around The Crown & Anchor.
