The Rail, formerly The Brass Rail, is the granddaddy of all San Diego gay bars, in business for over a half century and owned by only two families all that time. Still going strong with rotating DJs and sexy go-go boys, it hosts the official annual all-day party after the Pride Parade and showcases top drag king and queen performances. Trivia, karaoke and a long-running 80s/90s night are on the weekly calendar. Monthly special events include Girls' Night Out San Diego every third Saturday with drink specials all night. The daily happy hour is 2 pm to 6 pm. It serves sandwiches and comfort-food weekend brunches.
