Dia de les Illes Balears or Day of the Balearic Islands is celebrated all over the archipelago, with the Carnival Parade in Ibiza's Old Town taking center stage. Hundreds of locals come dressed in costumes that range from pirates and mermaids to cleopatras and smurfs alongside dozens of elaborate floats, local bands and dance schools.
