Tai Long Wan is not for the casual sunbather. It takes a 90-minute hike just to reach the start of the miles of white sand beaches in Sai Kung County Park. "Tai Long Wan" translates Big Wave Bay, so it's not surprising it's popular with surfers who can rent boards and camping equipment in a little beachside restaurant. From Sai Kung, where the Hong Kong Adventist College is located, take a bus to Pak Tam Au or a taxi to the Sai Wan drop off.
