High if not at the top of the list for fine dining in Brighton, The Gingerman in Norfolk Square has been creating uncomplicated meals made from seasonal ingredients since 1998. Walls are brick, floor is wood plank, menu is blackboard. Note that the small venue does get noisy in the evenings, which are normally fully booked. Prix fixe menus and a Sunday roast available. Although Gingerman is the flagship restaurant, the same group also runs the The Ginger Pig in Hove, The Ginger Fox in Albourne on the South Downs and The Ginger Dog in Kemptown.
